Sinus lifting

Sinus lifting

Sinus lifting is an intervention that is performed in the lateral areas of the upper jaw in case of bone deficiency. After sufficient fusion of the bone, the implants are placed there, then the crowns. The operation increases the amount of bone tissue, ensuring reliable maintenance of the implant. After obtaining the required bone volume, implantation can be carried out. It is possible to combine the intervention with simultaneous implantation, if there is sufficient bone height of 4-5 mm for implant placement.

Many people want to get a beautiful smile, but not everyone is ready to go through these stages for it. They delay it for various reasons. And time is detrimental and during it the bone becomes thinner and it is impossible to make prosthetics without additional surgical intervention. It is not very important what caused the atrophy. If the bone of the upper jaw is not enough for implantation, then it should be added.

Many patients have an extremely thin layer of bone tissue, which is located between the gum and the sinus cavity. Surgery is also required when the bone spur is caused by the absence of a tooth.
According to statistics, more than 60% of patients need this procedure if the implantation is not done on time.

Sinus lifting is indicated:

  •  when part of the bone tissue has been lost as a result of a traumatic tooth extraction
  •  due to the features of the anatomy of the jaw, if the hymoral cavity is enlarged
  •  In case of missing tooth for more than 6 months depending on the case

The need for surgical intervention is determined exclusively after examination and diagnosis. Tomography allows us to determine the state of bone tissue. It is important to create a base that will hold the implant, regardless of congestion degree.
