Injection methods for restoring past beauty have long become a common practice in the lives of most modern girls and women. Moreover, injections have firmly established themselves as one of the new methods for facial care.
About 15 years ago, only celebrities could afford such beauty injections, but now nearly any woman can pay for these procedures.
However, despite the recognition of injections, many women still don’t fully understand all the concepts and terms associated with them. As cosmetologists themselves say, they often have to answer the question, "Which is better and more effective—Botox or mesotherapy?" The answer is both simple and complex.
These are two completely different procedures. They are similar in only one aspect—they are both injections. To determine which treatment—Botox injections or mesotherapy—will have the best effect on a specific person’s skin, it’s necessary to carefully consider both methods. What is the difference between Botox and mesotherapy?
In Botox treatment, the doctor injects a special medication—botulinum toxin type A—under the person's skin. It temporarily paralyzes the facial muscles.
In mesotherapy, cocktails are used, composed of substances individually selected for a specific person. Typically, this includes hyaluronic acid, a mixture of vitamins and minerals, and plant extracts. To make a decision about the choice of injection composition, many factors need to be taken into account.
When Botox is injected into the subcutaneous layers, it paralyzes the facial muscles. During mesotherapy, the substances used affect the skin cells, thereby stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. Hyaluronic acid has properties that eliminate deep wrinkles.
Indications
Women sometimes want to get rid of non-existent problems. Therefore, only a doctor can determine whether injection procedures are necessary. Botox is used for the appearance of facial wrinkles (regardless of the woman's age) or excessive sweating.
There is a misconception in society that Botox is used to enlarge lips or change the shape of the face. Botox can only temporarily affect the muscles; it does not impact the body overall. However, mesotherapy addresses a range of issues. After all, the cocktail used in this procedure can have many different compositions. As a rule, it is used to treat excessive skin dryness, cellulite, wrinkles, and even slightly change facial features.
What to Expect
Botulinum toxin A injections have a limited validity period, lasting up to a maximum of six months. After this period, the procedure must be repeated. The main purpose of mesotherapy is to stimulate the activity of skin cells. Mesotherapy is designed to encourage skin cells to actively renew themselves. Therefore, the results of such a procedure are quite long-lasting. Within six months from the first injection, elastin and collagen are produced, providing a positive effect.
As a result, the appearance and internal condition of the skin improve so significantly that the rejuvenating effect is visible to the naked eye. The effectiveness of the injection course lasts for one year, and if the skin is properly cared for, it can last even longer. Contrary to popular belief, a few sessions are not enough to get rid of facial wrinkles. This applies to Botox. It is recommended to conduct mesotherapy sessions over several weeks, as this is the only way to achieve specific goals. In certain cases, for example, when it is necessary to eliminate cellulite or deep folds, the course may take longer.
Before choosing between these complex procedures and answering the question, "Mesotherapy or Botox? Which is better?", try to thoroughly explore the purpose of both procedures. This cannot be done without professional consultation.
